Wintherium, megaterium (giant sloth), brototeria, toxodone - these mammals lived on the plains a million years ago, when the first human ancestors appeared on Earth. Some animals have reached truly gigantic proportions.
The largest of them ate plants, while predators were small and extremely dexterous. Predatory mammals became more and more powerful and cruel: large herbivores were soon exterminated by them.
Fangs
Gradually new species of predatory mammals appeared, very large and cruel, such as the saber-toothed tiger, which had terrible, sharp fangs.
In the Sahara
The climate in those days was very different from the modern one. On the site of the Sahara desert there was a plain covered with green grass, where the ancestors of camels, horses and gazelles grazed. Large herbivorous mammals were supposed to die under the onslaught of predators that invaded the valleys.
Dome on the back
Once upon a time in America there were glyptodonts with a huge shell in the form of a dome 1.5 meters high and a tail, which consisted of several rings.
But today on Earth there are their distant relatives - armadillos.
In anticipation of the appearance of man
In the forests, some species of monkeys, similar to humans, have spread. A little time will pass, and the Earth will be subdued by the human race, endowed with a more perfect mind than any other living creatures.
